SEN Advocates provides support and advice for parents seeking the best possible special educational needs provision for their children. We specialise in cases involving children with autism, as we have significant personal and professional experience of SEN tribunal for autistic children. We are well-placed to help families seeking:
- ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis)
- Intensive 1-2-1 support
- Speech and Language Therapy
- Occupational Therapy provision
We are passionate about getting the right mix of part-home / part-school or full time ABA programmes for your child. Our understanding of SEN Code of Practice, SEN law, and the SEN tribunal process helps us to help you when your LEA (Local Education Authority) is unwilling to consider the options you feel would best meet your childs needs.
Choosing a SEN Advisor
In some cases, parents will find that they must appeal their LEA’s decision at a SEN tribunal. If you are looking to go to tribunal, then thoroughly research all your options! We urge you to discuss your case with a number of experts before choosing a SEN advisor. There are some excellent advocates out there, and we are happy to make recommendations. All we want is for you to get the best result for the lowest possible cost. If we can help you do that, great! If we can introduce you to someone else who can, that’s great too!
Cost
SEN Advocates operates with a very clear pricing structure.
Service | Charge |
---|---|
Refusal to assess | £1000 |
Full one day tribunal hearing | £1500 |
Letter writing (ghosting on behalf of parents) | £60/hour |
Our refusal to assess and tribunal services include the following:
- lodging your appeal
- corresponding with the LEA and tribunal service
- instructing experts (does not cover experts fees)
- completion of the working document
- representation on the day
In the event that the matter settles before the tribunal, the costs are limited to £60/hour for the hours worked.
Working with Barristers
In some cases, parents prefer to use our SEN advisor to do all the leg work and then instruct a barrister on the day of the tribunal. We are happy to accommodate this. This is an excellent solution for parents as it ensures they have a highly skilled leading barrister on the day of the tribunal. This is often advisable given that many LEAs will instruct barristers themselves. Having a leading barrister can be comforting for parents and we recommend this strategy for cases which are complex, or high value.
We have professional relationships with two leading barristers, expert in the field of SEN law. If you choose this type of service, our fees are reduced by £500.
Please do contact us if you think we might be of service to you and your family.
